Yes, the most common reason for a change in behavior is a physical
problem. The first thing that needs to be done with this dog is a thorough
vet exam. She is showing signs of being in pain. The 'denning' under the
table, the warning of the small child not to approach are definately signs
that she is in pain. Remember, she chose to snap as a warning rather than
to bite. She should just as easily have bitten if she chose to do it.
