I got a call about a 5 month old puppy on Wednesday. He was lethargic, painful in the rear with 105 temp. They went to emergency rip-off vet, who ran all kinds of tests blood ,x-rays and came up with nothing. Suggested keeping him overnight for $5600 to do more tests. Pups went home on antibiotic and 20 mg pred and yesterday temp was normal on 20 mg of pred twice. This morning temp was 105.7 and he was lethargic again. They gave him fluids and dexamethazone and they are sending him home. My vet here has said to check for tick borne diseases, ultrasound of internal organs. She thought it was pano at first and still thinks it could be, but said temp was almost too high for that. The puppy is eating and drinking and has normal stools. Any ideas?
