I received this e-mail from Maryanne Perlman who runs the rescue in our
area....I have NO names for help in Minnesota with the old guy...Please can
someone
help.

Hello,
I have came across a German Shepard (Name: Bernie) that is in need of a home
or foster care. The situation is: The German Shepard's owner, Paul
Johnson, passed away about two weeks ago and his dog, Bernie, is still
living outside at Paul's place. Paul was a bachelor and has one living
sister that I've spoken with concerning Bernie. Paul's sister has said that
she has no one who now wants Bernie and she, herself, can't take him in.
Bernie is living at Paul's home about seven miles north of Wright, Minnesota
and Bernie is approximately 12 years old and blind. Bernie has an automatic
feeder outside on the porch plus a neighbor who puts out fresh water. Is
there a foster care in Minnesota for Bernie? Please let me know how Bernie
can be helped as he is a beautiful large German Shepard (not fat, but a big
dog) and gentle. Bernie needs a home and someone to love him now that his
