I love my electric "oil radiators." According to what I researched, those are the safest of them all. Do get the ones that turn off when tipped, but mostly make sure that the cords and wires are safe and not close to fabrics. That's where fires start, not in the heater itself. But I learned NOT to get the ones with the thermostat. If you get the ones that allow you to turn medium, high etc., it REALLY saves on the electricity. The manual control took less that 1/4 of the cost of the thermostat one. (Boy, was I Surprised when I got the bill that month. It sits quietly in the corner now. I used the "radiators" in the shed when I had the dogs there, and in the garage when I moved here. I also made sure that I insulated just as much as I possibly could.
