There is a device you can have attached to your engine. It is called a Hot
Dog if the engine quits a alarm goes off. Some of the dogmasters for the
RCMP have them in their suburbans.
I think they have a web site.

I also keep 2 keys to my van. So I can leave them in with the engine
running and still lock it. I check about every 1/2 hour, as long as it is
not too
too hot.
Your air can go out in the van 2 minutes after you last checked it and 28
minutes later you can come back to a van with only hot air blowing on the
dogs.
Not a safe thing to do.
