Remember too that 10% of any German Shepherd item I sell on Ebay goes to
LHSH! Now that LHSH has its 501c3 status officially I am going to work on
getting them on Ebay's approved charity list. Then anyone that sells any
item can designate a charitable gift :)

We received a request for assistance from Robin at this facility. She is a
volunteer working with the ACO. They are having a meeting with the
Commissioners on Monday.
This facility is "dirt poor"...it is located in one of the poorest
counties
in Ohio and they are struggling to not only feed the dogs in their care but
are desperate for supplies as well. There are no walls on this facility;
only a metal canopy. They will be utilizing haybales to stop the cold Ohio
winds this winter. Evidently there is little to no money in the Town
Accounts for the support of this facility.
If you have any extra bowls, buckets, collars or leads...or can send along a
loaded Visa card for 10$ or so so that they can purchase cleaning supplies
or flea preventative....PLEASE contact one of LHSH Board members! Pat Lukos
will be making the journey to the shelter to see the situation for herself
and LHSH is kicking off this campaign by donating several cases of canned
dog food.
We have pulled GSDs from this facility in the past; it is likely that more
will find their way there in the future. Due to the current economic crisis,
I fear there will be many more shelters in this position. This shelter
brought down their euthanization rate to near zero; they are working hard to
help the dogs.
