the last time I had anyone clapping for my dog was 15 years ago when I
finished my Smooth Collie,

I have been reading these posts, and waiting for one to quote to add my
opinion. This one just came up at the right time.

Norma, or anyone else has the right to not show, or show as they decide. If
you see terrible things going on in the ring, you owe it to the breed not to
support that sort of activity. I have pulled dogs when I see a judge doing
something harmful to the breed. Norma, in her mind did the same, and if
everyone did it, we might teach clubs not to hire judges who do not know what
they
are doing.

Now, it is possible someone made a mistake, but it is up to each exhibitor
to decide where, when and how to show. No one owes anyone else anything else.

I have found when I show a good dog, it gets applause, and it makes me feel
good. I have never shown a top quality dog that does not get a crowd
reaction. The applause at the national for O'Connor was fun, and even more so
to hear
the sudden gasp when I fell. I have never asked for applause, but then, I
am myself and no one else. We need to walk in another's shoes before we
attack others. But, be sure to wear clean socks.

Norma has for years told us what she thinks, what she does, and how she
approaches this sport She may not do it our way, but she has the right to do
it
her way, without us attacking her. We have a right to express our opinions,
but it doesn't require personal attacks. Norma may march to a different
trumpet player, but she does her dance her way and loves her dogs.

Also, if you go to any major dog food company and watch what they do for
quality control, and to improve the quality, you may just serve a good
commercial brand. If you want to feed raw, cheap, mix in extra, or none of the
above,
you go for it. Each of us finds the best way to maintain our dogs. The best
way to enjoy the sport, and the best way to live is our own way.

Not that there is anything wrong with that.
