It can be more "exciting" to watch, and we do want our dogs to have some fire
and attitude......but to win or lose on HOW THEY SHOW is becoming a problem.
YES....IT IS A SHOW......but not a performance event!
There is really nothing in the Standard about what we expect and ask of our
German Shepherd Dogs and our handlers, and even our double handlers now.
It is fun and exciting to watch.........but we have also dug a hole we are
having
problems digging out of.
How many times have we seen a dog look mediocre ....and then as it is doubled
and it picks up momentum and speed and all of a sudden.....TOPLINE & FRONT!!!
WAHOO......gorgeous illusion!!!
Our most important breeding tool has become our double handling toys. <G>
If we can't breed it.......make it appear like we have. Bad back....no
problem
just double harder..... no rear drive......teach the dog to 'dig in' and
pull....no
front...no problem....hold them up and get them to lean into the leash harder!

We're on a fast train of gimmicks to give an illusion to fool the judges.
