Gail, I euthanatized a bitch I had because of hyper- thyroid. Her reading was 4.5. I did this because I would not place her with this medical problem, and for sure, I would not breed her. The information I received from my vet was that it is NOT treatable. As Linda said, there is no treatment short of removal and the rest of her life on medication.
