I have always done a lot of self doctoring and my vet is great at letting me buy a supply of things to have on had. But now I really have to be worried before I go in with a dog.Seems like I can never get out of there for under a minimum of a couple hundred. I so agree with you Sally. Self doctor most things myself, and my vet has allowed me to buy a lot of things in larger quantities. When I get stuck on something, I call for advice (no fee) and she will suggest maybe a different antibiotic or whatever for the situation. Something chronic I can't handle.....usually a big bill. Will say, it is by far cheaper to have my OFA work done at my Canadian vets than anywhere down here.
