They are like all of us, trying to keep the business running with less and
less money coming in. They used to pretend they were there only to promote
pur-bred dogs, well, we now know they will register mixed breeds, and
promote events for rescued dogs, (which I think it a good thing).
We need to admit that we are doing this to protect the breed and because of
our love of the German shepherd. That is our duty, not the AKC.
It is time we stopped blaming the AKC for not doing what we want done, and
support them for doing somethings that need to be done. They do promote our
sport, keep tract of our wins, print lots of information, and provide us
hours and hours of interesting hobby time.
What more can you ask?
