[ SHOWGSD-L ] Great Weekend for Strider and his Girls!!!!

Some shows are good, some not so good and some are GREAT so it makes  
the bad ones easy to forget!  This weekend was one of the great ones!

On Saturday, at the German Shepherd Dog Fanciers of Northern  
California show under judge Lee Brown,  our beautiful spitfire of a  
girl, Scherzar's Tapestry II, managed to somewhat control her  
exuberance  to win a very competitive 12-18 class and then in winners  
just kept getting better and better and  went on to Winners Bitch for  
her second four point major!  This is "Tootsie" second 4 point major  
with her first coming from the 6-9 puppy class under judge Bob  
Ghigleri at the Golden State GSDC show earlier this year.  So Ms.  
Toots is off to a great start with two four point majors at 15 months.  
She had not been in the ring for a while since this strange Northern  
California weather is wrecking havoc on all the dogs coat.  Thank you  
to Lee Brown for recognizing Tootsie and your nice comments on her  
forequarter and structure.  She can be a little dynamo like her  
sire.....also a big thank you to Debbie Hopkins (grey dog Debbie) who  
trains, conditions and grooms Tootsie.  Great job!

Speaking of her sire, Ch. Rohan's Reward TC,CGC,HT,RE,CDX,  was  
entered only on Saturday and he won the Veterans class and then blew  
me away in Best of Breed competition, by going Best Opposite over some  
very nice, group winning & specialty winning male specials.  I don't  
know what made me happier....Tootsie's win or seeing Strider go BOS  
from Veterans!  Strider loves to show and loves the applause.    This  
is only his second time in the ring since retiring early last year but  
he still has as much or more :-) energy and spirit as his younger  
competitors.  Thank you to Lee Brown for considering a Veteran in  
breed competition...some judges don't which is unfortunate.

Both Tootsie and Strider are handled by my good friend, Art Sinclair  
who has handled both dogs from the start of their show career and has  
learned to put up with their high energy level.    Art showed Strider  
in Veterans but since he had to go on his male special, Sharlonna  
McGaha stepped in and gaited Strider to his BOS win.  First time  
Sharlonna had ever had her hands on the dog, but she and Strider made  
an awesome pair. Thank you so much to both Art and Sharlonna for  
making Saturday such a great day.

Hmmm now people are telling me I have to bring Strider back out for  
his Grand Championship title! LOL

Then on Sunday's specialty show, under judge Debra Ann Hokkanen,  SW  
RBIM Ch. Scherzar's Wicked, our red sable girl, was awarded Select  
which finished her Grand Championship title.  She finished with all  
majors wins in a little over a month and half.  "Amber" was shown by  
her co-owner Channing Sheets and is trained and groomed by Tracy  
Radigan who is also Strider's groomer!

It was a great weekend, not only for the wins, but the fun of being  
with people who share the same love of our breed and enjoying good  
friendship and support for each other and the dogs.   Plus several of  
our friends also had great wins but I will let them brag.....Ellen,  
Pam, Rick and Jenetta....????
