[ SHOWGSD-L ] Great Chili Recipe

This is the best Chile Recipe I have ever found ? This was from one of Ann
Landers columns that my Mom had clipped. This is always a hit too. I
usually add a little more on the hot pepper sauce, chili powder, bacon & of
course have to double or triple the recipe for an event.
Time to give up the Spanish Rice recipe Ileana! Enjoying the pre-pity party
? flying out to the National tomorrow & can?t wait.

This Old House Chili Beans
1 small onion, diced
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
½ cup brown sugar, packed
2 (1 pound 13-ounce) cans pinto beans
1 cup catsup
¼ pound ground beef
¼ pound bacon, chopped
1 ½ teaspoons chili powder
1 ½ teaspoons garlic powder
1 ½ teaspoons onion powder
1 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
Sauté onion in butter until tender. Stir in brown sugar until well mixed.
Combine beans, catsup, ground beef, bacon, chili powder, garlic powder,
onion powder and
Hot pepper sauce in a large saucepan.
Stir in onion mixture until well mixed.
Cover and simmer over low heat until meat is cooked, about 30 to 35 minutes.
Refrigerate overnight to blend flavors.
Reheat to serve.
Makes 8 servings.
