To the best of my knowledge ( very limited ) the color gray is not a "normal"
color in the canine world in any breed????
I don't know of ANY Breed that is "gray". Gray would be the Matte color of
gray like a white, or a black with NO markings or color shadings or markings.
NOT to be confused with our beautiful sables!...........not even CLOSE!!
When you look at the few Breeds that have gray....i.e. Greyhounds, Pit Bulls,
O.E.Sheepdogs, Beardies, etc. .....they ALWAYS have the white markings.
I do not know of any Breed that is gray. Cats yes............dogs not.
A true gray would have a slate colored nose......not acceptable.
I read the Standard once <G> and am fully aware of what it says about color
and it never mentions gray. I don't think it's an issue.....there are none.
AKC has done some obvious changes on the AKC form.....gray being one.
I have a hunch they have it in there because many pet buyers send in gray
for the color of a sable. <G>
My original post was just in jest to Tish.....<G> Now Evan will never let
me ride in his convertable with the top down if I get caught off schedule!!
