I think part of the problem with this discussion is that we are talking apples
and oranges..............Select and GCH points.
The judge can award a Select ribbon to anyone he/she deems worthy.
The AKC verifies the eligibility status of said winners and distributes the GCH
points as it deems fit, per their rules.

Points.
That is why WD & WB are not eligible.

I only repeat what the AKC told me. If they are mistaken, don't blame me.
It sure can be confusing when it comes to Grand Champion points. But, we
shouldn't just give them because we can, but only when we should.
And if I am not mistaken Harley has the second level and was the first
male
German shepherd to get a Grand Championship. What a great record he has.
