Agreed. My dad just got out of the hospital for a blood clot, and my mom is
looking at over $1000 in co-pays for two weeks worth of meds for my dad, and
this is him using his private insurance AND medicare to pay for his meds.

I don't want to get embroiled in a political discussion.........but MediCare
brings it out in me........

We had / have GREAT Health Insurance.......covered everything but Dental. We
paid for it for almost
a lifetime....and they STILL take a huge chunk out of my husbands retirement so
it is a small retirement.
Kills the show scene.....<G>
Then when you reach a "certain age".....( older than dirt ) <G>......you are
FORCED to go on MediCare.
You don't "need" it as you already are paying for great insurance......but you
have no choice...you have to sign
up for this "Government run" Health Care.
THEN it changes......suddenly your prescription co-pay changes.....from your
great insurance that you paid for
all of your life that has a $5.00 co pay for Presc. and Dr....changes. On
Medicare the Dr. co pay goes UP.
Prescription prices vary from $3.89 to $70.00......you never know
which.......and because MediCare kicks
in our great Insurance now doesn't cover as much. They leave some of it up
to Medicare which never ever
covers what great Insurance does.
Medicare keeps raising prices and taking more away on Medicare......and take a
chunk out of your S.S. after
you paid for 50 yrs. on the great Medical Health Insurance.........that is
STILL taking out of our retirement!!!
So NOW........we have the Insurance AND Medicare taking out of Retirement AND
S.S.
We lose in ALL ways!
The problem is......it is probably great for some.....but for those that don't
need it NOR want it....you should not
have to sign up for it!!! The Government Medicare shoots itself in the foot
with that....and shoots us in the foot!
Now we're looking at possibly a BIGGER MEDICARE........
Dog related......I'm here on the computer complaining about Medicare instead of
out romping in the freezing
snow with the dogs who LOVE IT!!! We have a foot of frozen snow and it's a
"beautiful thing" to watch a
solid black Grand Victrix gait across the snow with sheer joy in her eyes as
Cowboy runs HUGE circles
of joy around all of us..........and oh how they love to "root around" in
it!!! Probably looking for our
Insurance Policy that got buried in Medicare snow.........<G>

Problem is that it is getting so that some doctors won't accept medicare as
the medicare $ is being cut to
doctors. I had this happen so it isn't just hearsay. Also, there are many
types of BCBS and our
daughter (who has C.F.) is really in a bind as her husband's workplace
offers one that is "S" and she
says that stands for "Stinks". Most of the specialists she needs don't
accept that kind and don't
tell her to go to the C.F. foundation for help since when they ask the
income, the kids are told they aren't eligible.
No one ever takes into account the major and many medical bills and
prescription bills coming in every month
for her care so they can't keep up with them all.
But, I'll take our system over total government run care for sure. And our
Pet Referral hospital and our Vet still
take great care of our dogs and work with us. (dog related!)
