I am anticipating a problem with a one-puppy litter. When this bitch had only one puppy once before, she dried-up when the puppy was maybe about 2 weeks old. The puppy was doing well, nursing, thriving, then all of a sudden he started to look not so great, and I checked the mom and saw she really didn't have much (if any) milk. I started feeding him jarred baby food and he quickly learned to lap-up milk, but I didn't think that was the greatest thing for him at only 2 weeks of age. So, now I have a one-puppy litter again, and I'm guessing the same thing will happen. Anyone have any ideas on how to keep the milk going ?? Anyone have a new-born litter that needs supplementing ?? :) Iza Kabuska http://www.karizmashepherds.com ============================================================================ POST is Copyrighted 2006.
