--when showing blacks, my dogs have either won or been at the end of the line. >>>>>>> We have had the same experience. Tipper had both majors, with BOB wins over specials, and won the Conditional Class at the national that year. (She was also dead last in her class a few times.) Unfortunately, she died very young of mesenteric root torsion. :( All these years later, I have perspective on the situation. Tipper was a nice bitch, had nice sidegait, and a beautiful sihouette. She was feminine to the 9's, but could have used more bone and substance. For the most part, I think her show career was appropriate to her quality. The more I think about it, I think there is something to 'seeing' black. I don't know what it is, but some of us maybe have different eyes, and are naturally drawn to the color. I know I am also drawn to a nice black horse. To me, there is nothing so stunning and dramatic as a big, black warmblood doing dressage -- and that is all about movement. So, maybe some of us just see it differently. Who knows.
