I would like to hear from people that show other Breeds.
Are they expected to have their dogs FLY around the ring pulling into the
leash to the
point of owners needing to send them away to "Camps" for extensive training
and conditioning?
Do they pay the price for handlers that our German Shepherd Dog exhibitors pay??
Do their National prices and training require what is expected for this Breed?
If not........I think you have your answer..................<G>

There hasn't been much on the List since the Nationals and it got me
thinking. As you may know, I have a
Papillon pup I am showing. In the past year, I have shown this pup every
month. Majors at almost all shows.
I have also looked at the entries for GSD's at each of the AB shows. Not to
mention the GSD specialties.
The AB show entries are dismal and the specialties aren't much better. What
is going on?
The GSD is one of the most popular breeds, yet the entries are down. I
suppose one could blame it on the economy. But, Goldens, Labs, Yorkies (top
breeds) are drawing majors almost every weekend.
Even not so popular breeds are doing well. What is going on with our breed?
I don't think this is just a West Coast thing but correct me if I am wrong.
Are we just not getting new people or are we just losing people
more than gaining them?
I don't want a war starting, I am just wondering what we can do to help us
all show our dogs without
spending big bucks for no benefit.
