I used to feed IAMS Lamb and Rice for years with great results. About three
years ago the dogs coats started looking terrible and several dropped in
weight
and condition. I did conclude the company must have switched to cheaper
ingredients and moved to using Eukanuba instead. They've sent mailings
that there is no Melamine in the food, but I do wonder ....?
This week there were 2500 hogs destroyed in Utah because they "might" have
eaten some of the feed that included reprocessed dog food from Menu Foods.
The news report said some of the meat had already made it into the market
before anyone knew. I'm not sure how safe "our" food is, either!

Have any of you noticed that you had to feed your males more food than you
used to? I don't notice it so much with the females. But about 3 years ago my
males were looking very thin and raggedy, so I upped their feed to 5
cups/day. Now my big male eats more than 6 cups/day.
OMG - I did notice that! I have been having trouble over the past few years
with weight fluctuations - either too thin or just right on the same amount
of food, never consistent. AND about two weeks ago, I lost one of my seniors
for no explainable reasons - but as a younger dog, he had suffered acute
kidney failure from which he had recovered, but he was probably still
sensitive
to something like this - he was not on a kidney diet food, regular Diamond
Lamb and RICE!
