How much food does each free feeder hold? In Arizona I would be afraid that the
preservatives would brake down in the heat. In Oregon I would be afraid of the
food growing mold before it was finished. I won't even buy more food than I
will use in a week. I guess it would be safer if you lived in an area where in
frozen every night. That might help to keep the food fresh.

The new hard plastic feeders are great and I have had no problems outdoors.
My dogs regulate themselves by running so much which is a big factor in being
able to do this.
But then they are raised this way.

Free feedimg your dog indoors is fine but I am not sure that I would do it out
doors. I would be afraid I would draw rats to the kennel area.I put dishes down
and give them 20 minutes to eat. If they choose not to eat that is OK with me.
They will eat at the next meal offered. I have several dogs that are being
conditioned and some are in training for agility. It is important that I keep
them at an exact weight. The only way I can do that is to know what they are
eating.

A question for those of you who free feed, what feeder do you like best for
your outdoor kennels? Any recommendations who sells the best at a reasonable
price? I think I've heard of some who use chicken feeders, what do you think
of those?
