When I first saw the subject title on this post all I thought (while
smiling) was....Doris got herself another good one......<G>

Just last week she was so tickled about all the birthday wishes she
received from her "computer" family, and then we "talked" about the Jack The
Ripper book she read, and guaranteed me it will scared me silly.....

Whenever Dexter did well at any show, and especially at the National, I
knew hers would be one of the first posts that would await me at home saying
"Congratulations, and keep it up"

She loved her Boss, her Booker and her Bo. And we still have her Thank
You note she sent my daughter for the write up she did for Boss's memorial.

Truly an Icon to this breed and this club. A loss to us all.

Rest in Peace Doris, we will miss you greatly.

This morning I got one of my most dreaded phone calls.

Sandy Moore who loved Doris Estabrook as much as we do, called me early
this morning
to tell me that Doris had been found by her daughter Connie this morning.
 Doris had passed
away in her sleep last night.
It has been a really sad day for all of us. We knew Doris was failing,
but none of us who
loved her were prepared to lose her so soon. We are stunned.
Frank and I have known Doris and Herb since 1966. Herb was still a
major cameraman
behind most of Hollywood's biggest movies as he 'commuted' to Hollywood
from their home
on Lake Tahoe before retiring and moving to Gardnerville. They had three
young children the
same age as two of ours. Twin girls Connie & Claire and one
son......John.
*
WHERE DID THE YEARS GO!!
*
Her daughter Connie called tonight and asked me to let everyone know
within her world of
German Shepherd Dogs and friends that Doris is gone.
Doris turned 81 years old on Thursday, and she lost Herb when he was 81.

Doris never got over losing Herb. They are together again.

God Speed Doris..........we have some amazing memories ........we love you!
