I do not see it the same. The dogs in Germany are
seldom house dogs . They are kept in a kennel and as both standards call
for, they are to be aloof. We want dogs that will adapt to all conditions,
including becoming house dogs. <<<<
I will disagree on this in Germany the German GSD's owners I have known
their dogs are very much part of the family as last I knew they even took them
to restaurants as over there it is allowed. Aloof is a American
term not a German one as it is not accepted over there with their dogs

Disagree again, shy, fearful whatever a person wants to call it has no place
in the showring. Temperament is in the genetic makeup of a dog and when
this is displayed it should be excused from the ring. It is considered
soft temperament as when the wind blows, noise of dropping objects
they will always show fear. I would never trust a dog with this character.
