I agree completely Kathy. I stated that Strauss is extremely friendly,
somebody replied back "That is just fine for Strauss, but not for our show
dogs."
I should have replied then. I didn't. I'm replying NOW.
It is NOT fine for Strauss. I accept it and tolerate it because that's who
he is, but that doesn't mean I accept it or pawn it off as correct. I do
believe it is possible to over socialize, which I believe I did with Strauss
since
I didn't want people looking at him as a "scary German Shepherd!"
Only one person has called him anything derogatory so I guess I did ok. I
wish he were more aloof like my Old Man, but I'm overall happy with my dog.
