Indeed. I find the biggest complaint "specialist" have against going to
All
Breeds is that the rings are too small. That is true in many cases, but
has
anyone approached the all breed club and find out what it would take to get

a bigger ring? You will be surprised that in most cases the all breed
clubs
will accommodate the bigger ring (if the space is available) in exchange
OK guys -

For the past several years I have been the show chair of my local All-breed
dog show. We are traditionally a 2000 dog show with
conformation/obedience/rally. We hold our show at the Ranch (the same place the
 GSDCA national was
held in October). This year I secured a well respected breeder judge from
Mexico
to be on our panel. Many of you have admired the dogs he has bred and
entered over the years in the national. The other judge on the panel is also
well
respected in the GSD world as one who appreciates a well balanced, moving dog.
In addition, I have secured a climate controlled building and earmarked a
60ft x 80 ft ring with plenty of room for ring side crating and reserved
grooming with all the electricity your blowers could want. All the annoying
toys
and terriers will be exhibited in another building.

The GSD entry is the following:
21 GERM SHEPHERD 11-10- 0-0
23 GERM SHEPHERD 11-11- 1-0

If I weren't a Shepherd person - the show superintendent would have laughed
in my face for asking him to bring the extra gating for this meager entry.
Thank goodness for all the local puppies in the area to help with the numbers.

In retrospect - last weekend I attended an all breed show in Colorado
Springs that had 52 Rhodesian Ridgebacks in a 40 x 40 ring. They had to do the
specials in two groups to fit them all in. First I didn't know there were that
many Rhodesians in the whole country and second - I would have loved to have
those entries at my show. I wonder if next year they would like a 60 x 80 ft
ring - 21 German Shepherds sure don't need it.......

Entries are what talks.......
