[ SHOWGSD-L ] GSDs are THE BEST!! AND Showing/working

I was in hopes this would stick to conformation as this is a conformation
list, but with the following statements I could not let this stand. I
broke it into sections as each needs answering.

I answer;
By this reasoning anyone could breed to anything and have a show dog. Yes
they might get a showable dog but it would be a great leap to get one that
excels in that venue.

You could do all of Pavlov's stuff to me and I will never be a ballet
dancer, singer, gymnast, etc.

I answer;
In animals it is part of what we call Animal Husbandry. Are you
suggesting we do not "select" animals to produce champions?

I am not saying the Am bred cannot do it, what I am saying most dogs are
useful in some things but not all dogs are useful in all venues. A
schutzhund sport dog is not inclined to be a good Guide Dog for the
blind...different drives required. You could get both in a litter but to have
it all in
the same dog would be exceptional.
