Glad to hear you are having a good time with yourbitch -- I hope you do get to try c-course - it is a fabulous way to work your dog. Around here we have a lot of fun training together. Many of our dogs will work together and you can see them divide up the work between them. We tend to train the style rather than the course as it makes the dogs really do the work rather than teaching them and the sheep a routine. . Some of us known as "conformation show people" ALSO take our dogs herding and might also have an opinion on this reasonable question. It seems to me that Sandy expressed excitement at the potential for having a C Course for the National and should not be discouraged from also bringing this information and her simple question to a show List as there ARE quite a few of us that do herd our show dogs. I am a ?conformation? person and I am currently taking one of my bitches to weekly, private herding lessons. She absolutely loves it and is doing very well. It is exciting to know that she has a strong instinct for doing what she was bred to do. My goal is to take her to the National this year if she is ready to earn a herding title by then. It would be wonderful to have a C Course. For me, this has been a great time with her and I am enjoying it equally as much. It has been a nice change of pace from sending my dogs off with a handler or training them in obedience.
