Since I know that both of these ladies are current GSDCA members, I have
sent them the Board-o-Gram via private email, and suggested to them that
they contact Bill to ensure that their membership information reflects
that they wish to receive email communication from the GSDCA. It will
also be sent to all members via US Mail, for those who do not have
email.
There is no question that Showgsd-l is not the official voice of the
GSDCA. However, it is an important communication tool for many GSDCA
members, and just as members discuss GSDCA issues of concern to them via
phone, at ringside and at dinner after shows, they also do so on the
List, and are most welcome to continue to do so, as the avowed purpose
of Showgsd-l is communication and interaction within the Fancy.
Due to the fact that there has in recent months been so much negativity
on the List regarding GSDCA issues, it is extremely important for it to
be evident to those same people how much attention has been paid and
will continue to be paid by the GSDCA Board to addressing those issues
and to being responsive to the members. In addition to the fact that
there are many List members who have subsequently joined the GSDCA as a
result of being on the List, there are no doubt Showgsd-l members
deliberating whether or not to join, or who might consider joining as
they understand these changes. The List also contains lots of Canadian
fanciers, and regional club members who are actively involved in the
fancy and who will be affected by decisions made by the GSDCA. Over the
years I have often observed important synergies between Showgsd-l and
the GSDCA. It can all work together for the benefit of all concerned.
