Was surfing around the GSDCA website. **Buried** under the education committee's envelope, I found this - "Video excerpts from the 2006 Judge's seminar". I didn't even get through all of these excerpts. but I have to say . FINALLY and WOW!!! Great job --- something that will hopefully educate people found on the website. Very good. Question is though - why isn't there a link to this one thing on the homepage -- in bold saying it's there. Lord help anyone actually looking for information, you need a bulldozer to find it. I was directed to the new website design idea link found on the homepage at the bottom. VERY NICE, CLEAN and Professional! Good job - can't wait until this actually gets up and running and is the representation of our breed to the world. My only constructive criticism would be that there are no pictures on it. I think a similar Java rotator as is being used for the banner ads at the top would be great only thing - have pictures of the breed doing different things, ie tracking, obedience, agility, rally, and then a series of deceased animals who have attained AOE, GV or GVx. The most important thing that this website needs to incorporate is this === remember WHO the AUDIENCE is! The audience obviously is for the members, but the important information that they need can be found by hitting a "member button" and all things related experienced members who want various information should be found there (not behind a wall) with a link for "member login" there as well. Beyond the membership, possibly the more important audience is - that this website should be the major benefactor of information - is the average joe blow who is looking for basic breed information. Based upon my initial basic search information using my sponsored account - the term German Shepherd averages 85,000-100,000 impressions per month. If only 10% of those impressions are people looking for information about the breed - then that is certainly a lot more people than this membership is. It also seems to me that we need to severely DUMB DOWN the main entrance page, so that information important to consumers, the people who need the basic breed information easily accessible, who may never visit this site again, but might if they find a plethora of easily accessible breed information - that's who the target audience needs to be. The members are obviously important, but they are easier to serve if they remember that getting correct breed information out there will be a benefit to the breed as a whole and will possibly help them sell more puppies - I'm sure they'll understand the concept. Finally, one last comment: * Graphics Design and Implementation by: Sousan Karimi, Email: <mailto:sousan@xxxxxxxx> <sousan@xxxxxxxx>, Who is this person, as I can't find their name in the membership list? Are they doing this work out of the kindness of their heart or are they being recompensed by the club or someone else? In any event, I applaud the new look of the proposed design, and hope that the suggestions made here become part of how we market our breed to the world.
