Baby steps.
I am glad to see that we are reducing the numbers on the board. I have said
for many years, it was too many people....doesn't matter what board, this
club doesn't need a board that large.
I see the point of regional representation, and I do get it. Because this
recommendation came after the Purina announcement, many are uncomfortable
that their region has no representation. But the membership has the power
to change that come election time. Now, I think we should elect the best
person, regardless of what region they live in. BUT....every region does
have highly qualified candidates, that's for sure. So, start working on
those nomination and send and support the best your region has to offer, just
make sure they have the breed and clubs best interest at heart. Not just
"their" region.
Our club is in financial crisis. Baby steps are being taken, I do agree a
smaller board is intelligent. And a long time coming.
