I sure have been proud of my GSDs at shows/trials in their crates. And I
hope it will always continue. One time I had an intact dog go by my intact
dog's wire crate & he lifted his leg & peed on him. The handler didn't see
it until seconds too late. On leash, when my dog passed that same dog later
on he growled at him. He evidently remembered the dog. Yuck to clean. Kathy

I attend a fair amount of All Breed shows and at the shows I go to I have to
say the GSDs are some of the more well behaved dogs at the show in and out
of the ring. I ring steward quite a lot and have been surprised at the poor
behavior of other breeds. I guess it is not noticed as much when it's a
smaller, less threatening appearing dog. When you walk by the set ups of
other breeds with your dog they all go off. Not really a big deal to me but
I agree it is for breeds like ours (perception of the general public).
It really is just a matter of exposing our dogs to the situation and
requiring good behavior. They learn pretty quickly when to bark and when not
too.
