Very true...but some of the dogs Dawn tells us about are part GSD...
are we as a group not concerned about them, either? After all, someone wasn't
concerned enough to keep them from being born...part GSD..........
and I am aware that every breed should have it's own rescuers...but
comments that imply that we should only even NOTICE purebred German Shepherds
sort of grate on my last nerve............

I think anything that ANY BREEDER/ EXHIBITOR OR JUDGE that can or is willing
to rescue, any breed, or mix is to be applauded.
We don't have near the time or resources (we wish we did ) to do the rescue
work that we would truly like. We do what we can, when we can. We keep it
with GSDs
(as much as my broken heart is able when I am in a shelter) because it is
what we are affiliated with, and known for. We are known by our GSDs, and
people often come to us looking for companions. They don't come to us looking
for Poms, Labs, or others. So for us to
lose our focus, would be detrimental to any ability we may have to re home
these dogs.
Would we LOVE to take in other breeds? ABSOLUTELY. In a perfect world,
I would have a huge rescue, with all different breeds and unlimited funds.
But that is just not
reality for us.
Again, my hats off to ANYONE, who can foster or re-home, or permanently take
ANY BREED. Every bit helps.
