> I, too, would like to know the difference between a "long coat" and an > "OPEN coat" ??? Saw a bitch that I thought was a long coat but was told > it > was an open coat???? > Sarah I think in that instance it was a matter of symantics. Now we refer to a puppy as a plush coat if the coat is extremely thick and somewhat soft but not long. And even though we have had plush puppies it is no guarentee that their coat will be plush as adults. Many times after the "puppy shed" the coat comes in less thick and more coarse. We have also had a couple of true long coats through the years, interesting to note, they have always stood out in their litters for their intelligence and attention. Have not had enough to be able to state this as more than an observance.
