[ SHOWGSD-L ] GSD Standard--one of the better writen ones

This is from the Judges -List, After all the hub-bub about  changing our 
Illustrated Standard,both in picture and wording( Thank god,it  was not 
changed) 
Thought you might like to see what a Corgi judge said --that  ours is one of 
the better written ones--- Helen Miller Fisher
 
A GSD that over reaches underneath is exactly what is called for in  the
Standard of the breed.  The GSD Standard is one of the better  written
Standards, period.  Too bad very few are still breeding for what  is stated
in the Standard, but that's another thread of discussion  entirely.  
Just because a dog oversteps underneath does not  automatically mean he crabs
- that would have to be assessed on the down and  back.  As long as the spine
is still in a straight line parallel to  forward motion, the dog can over
reach underneath and still not  crab.
