In light of the discussions all breed vs. specialty judges I appreciate reading posts.Last weekend I had a steward ( applying for GSD as part of the Group in the near future) ask me my thoughts on a few dogs. Handlers love this opportunity. She was open minded enough to listen. She criticized a particular dog because he was missing part of an ear.. she did not see the quality of this dog at first. I got her to " Look Again!" And she got it!!!! Hey I wanted to win with my American Bred dog a good one too but this dog deserved the win that day. I asked this person to try and attend the judging seminar and our national. Hopefully she will. It sometimes seems to me the "war" between all breeds and specialties is ongoing. Folks - there is no distinction on our Champion Certificates and a good dog does it in BOTH rings! Handlers, when you get opportunity to speak with future GSD judges - do so - they want to learn. I enjoy both rings. debi james ============================================================================ POST is Copyrighted 2005.
