If you have a good feeling about folks in your community, I can see GIVING a champion to one of these families. If you are a top breeder and have several champions living out their life in the kennel--why not. Let them live the GOOD life for their remaining years. Yes, it is easier when you live in a small community where you know people and can keep your eye on what is going on with this dog--but don't you think letting a good family have your old champion would be wonderful retirement for that animal? I have taken in a couple of old Ch. and they were house dogs (after Judd's time) and they were so happy. Made me feel good.
