No.....Alycia, nothing can be done. The only thing that your friend can do is
feed the puppy small soft meals and then hold him in an up right position for
15 minutes so that the food can go down. There is no surgery or shots or
anything that will help. I went through this with Nichole. It was hard for
the first month but miraculously she seemed to outgrow it which I did not think
was possible. She is 8-1/2 years old now and doing great despite being born
with mega and having E.P.I.  If it ever happens to me again I am not going
to put another puppy through what Nichole went through. Sometimes the best
thing that we can do for one of our babies is to just let it go peacefully.
