Texas HB 1451 by Thompson has been "pulled" from the Local and Consent
Calendar due to the efforts of Representative David Simpson and has been
"Recommitted to Committee Licensing and Regulation of Commercial Dog & Cat
Breeders."
Rep. Simpson stated for the record that he could talk the required 10
minutes of filibuster if necessary. Rep. Thompson then pulled her bill.
RPOA appreciates the efforts of Rep. Simpson. Many legislators fear
Thompson's power as chairman of the Local & Consent Calendar Committee
which
could prevent their bills from being heard. However the battle continues
so
stay tuned.

HB 1451 is fundamentally flawed and cannot be fixed with amendments.
