Due to the hijacking of Animal Advisory Committees in all major Texas
cities
by radical "animal rights" extremists, anti-pet legislation is spreading
like wildfire throughout our state. El Paso has a proposal on the table to
ban all dog/cat sales by "backyard" breeders and pet stores and only
allows
"competition dog and cat breeders" to sell animals IF they qualify and are
"approved" by the Animal Services director. The director will be able to
control which breeds continue to exist or become extinct. And how long
before this exception is deleted? (More on El Paso later.)

The Austin City Council banned retail sales of cats and dogs at today's
meeting, according to David Lundstedt, vice chair of the Austin Animal
Advisory Commission.
The commission had asked the council to enact an ordinance for such a ban,
which passed during today's consent agenda.
