According to her, she said a new study had just been done on giving dogs asprin, and although she had always recommended her clients using it before, she has since changed her mind. She said this new study showed that the dogs that were tested had bleeding in the stomach. I told her I used the buffered asprin, but she said discontinue all asprin. Chuck, have you heard of this test she's talking about? Best, Barbara Galasso p.s. I will probably be paying her a visit this week, and I will try to find out who did the testing and more information about to post it. Barb, Cody's co-breeder had an incident w/ aspirin w/ Cody's mother that turned me off from using it. Rose, who is either 12 or 13 now had been getting a minimal amount (1 St. Joseph's) of baby aspirin. She got a tiny little cut on her nose and darned near bled to death. She needed a transfusion because her blood was so thin from the aspirin that they couldn't get it to clot. Apparently it was quite a scene, her owner sitting in the back of the van holding her, towels everywhere covered in blood while her husband frantically sped through the streets of Baltimore on the way to the vets. The following day you couldn't even find the mark on her nose. Her vet said no more aspirin, and that's good enough for me!
