I showed in the amateur futurity this year. Thanks to someone giving me a
chance. I think it is a great opportunity for new and young handlers and owner
handlers?getting seen and having fun. Not all breeders are willing to put a new
or young handler on their dog. This way everyone can show and have fun. I would
definitely do it again next year if it is offered.

Christine, the amateur futurity was NOT another way to get my dogs to the
National Finals as none of the four that qualified are going. Denver is too
hard to get to with dogs. Flying is my only option and that isn't possible.
Jake Criss, the handler, had a wonderful time and I think that he is hooked. I
would enter the amateur futurity next year if there was one at a futurity I
attend if there are any up and coming handlers that would like to handle them.

anticipate that it would be about the same breeders, just getting different
handlers who hadn't been paid for a year.I think the concept of the event
was to attract new people, who were new to participating in the futurity
event.It was probably not meant to afford the same breeders and the same
people who had been participating in the futurity system for years, yet
another way to get more animals to the National.
