Oh Peggy....I know exactly what you are saying; I go nuts when I watch Judge
Judy and some of the "characters" butcher words so bad and grammar is
atrocious...and they are adults or college students. I just felt that Melissa,
being the young girl she is and also being bi-lingual, should be cut some
slack....she is a kid and still learning and proud of what she has
done...making comments about her spelling and grammar should have really been
sent to her privately; but, that is just my opinion. We are fortunate she has
a good sense of humor during this "non-dog" commotion discussion and it didn't
scare her away. (Now see, that didn't burn too bad; not even a singe *grin*)

I hate to say it, Patty, but I disagree. In these days when so many people
CAN'T spell, and even more can't punctuate correctly, it would be nice to see
someone who can do both actually do it. I called Melissa on it not too long
ago, altho I suspected it was a typo...(see, there's an "easy way out" in
there, too)...and depending on spell check isn't learning anything.
It's like saying "ain't." Not correct at any time, but we use it--and
the only time it isn't offensive is when we assume the speaker (or writer)
knows it's incorrect...just as when I use "altho" instead of "although." I'm
hoping people know I know the difference and am just being casual.
One of the things that makes me crazy is when people refer to "da list."
I think there are people out there who actually believe that is the correct way
to refer to the list. I know, I know...someone's bound to send me nasty emails
now, but I can't help it. My Mother always said "it grates on my ear to hear
the wrong word, or the wrong punctuation." Well, it grates on mine, too, and
the carelessness when writing grates on my eyes.

I'd have said "forget it...these people don't want to support me...they are
too worried about how I spell and punctuate"....I'd have been gone from the

You just enjoy having fun in this wonderful sport, keep your grades up (and
none of us is perfect) and I know we will see more of you as the years go
by....don't be afraid to post and I sure don't care if you spell correctly
or not *smile*.....we aren't on this list to be tested :-)
