Perhaps this can humble someone else into Rescue. Read this young man's words carefully. Then the next time you hear of a dog that is in need....just maybe you'll be able to open up one more space for that dog. She was suffering from malnutrition, damage to the pads on her front paws (they were worn bloody, like she was trying to dig through concrete), and had to have a choker chain surgically removed.  At that time, I had been looking for a young adult (not puppy) shepherd and weâ??d talked a little through e-mail. Then, seemingly out of the blue,  you sent me an e-mail about her and I came to see her early in May of â??01â?¦. And took her home with me that very day. Iâ??d crouched down to be less intimidating and when you let her out of the kennel, she came straight to me. To this day, if I ever want her to drop what sheâ??s doing and come to me, all I have to do is crouch down like that. Lilly, as youâ??d named her after a character in a book you were reading at the time, is still as happy and affectionate as ever.  Lilly has made a big impression on a lot of people. My father was originally afraid of her. But heâ??s come to see how loving, affectionate, and loyal they can be through her, and has even commented on it on more than one occasion. Additionally, when my sister Dawn from CT was looking for a Shepherd puppy, she turned to you, in large part, due to Lilly and how much of a sweetheart she is. (Lilly loves Dawn)  I honestly canâ??t remember if I ever said it.. but from the bottom of my heart, thank you for doing the rescue work that you do. My life would be a far lonelier place if it wasnâ??t for Lilly.  Iâ??m sincerely glad you still do the rescue work for shepherds. Thereâ??s too few people in this world that care enough to do that.  I know you probably hear the bad things, but I wanted to make sure you knew about this. Iâ??ve often been tempted to bring her out to see you guys again. But she has a tendency to get car sick and I am really hesitant to subject her to something she doesnâ??t enjoy or any kind of discomfort. Have I spoiled her? Probably, but thatâ??s just because I love her.  Againâ?¦ thank you.   Sincerely Nate Crine   ________________________________________________________________________ Email and AIM finally together.
