Dawn,
I think you should send the name to the other GSD clubs so they can make sure
their entries are paid for upfront to keep this from happening. Money is tight
and our clubs are struggling to stay afloat. If it is any consolation, your
club is not the only one that does this so don't be hard on yourself.

Well, whenever you buy anything, you don't go home with it unless its paid for
or a written agreement for payment was signed. Technically, payment should be
received with the entry.

Unfortunately for your club but you will probably not be able to do much since
it is against AKC rules to accept an entry without the payment. I am sure the
handler knows this so with that in mind knows that the AKC would not back you
up. In fact. if it were to be filed with AKC they may even fine the club for
accepting entries without the entry fee.
Sorry this happen to you and it may be a hard lesson to learn.
