I so agree. What a wonderful man he was. He touched so many of our
lives. I would love to see an award for something to do with
Temperament...

Bob was more than an icon to the German Shepard fancy he was at times
it's essence. As I write this I am looking around my den where my walls
are covered with dog photos going back over forty years and in many of
them there's Bob with that infectious smile and silly signature hat. He
handled many of my dogs.
He did it with a style and grace that those of us at the time marveled
at.
If you wanted find out anything about our breed, advise, direction,
information there was Bob. Probably the most accommodating man I have
ever met, the most non-controversial man I have ever met and probably,
the sweetest man I ever met.
We all loved and admired him. He will be sorely missed by our breed and
by the many friends he made on
his journey.

Ps:
It may seem pre-mature but I think the GSDC should propose some kind of
annual "Bob Penny" award for "service to our breed". It should have been
done long ago, but it should be enacted now.
