In central Oregon, when I was a young girl, we use to write COW on the side of 
the cattle just in  case the city slickers didn't know the difference.  As far 
as the young girl hunting. Good for her, I have no problem with parents 
teaching their children how to live off the land.
At least she will know how to hunt for food. The way things are going right now 
those children may be the only ones to survive and all you timid folks may be 
standing in line begging for a bite :0)

I agree!  I don't know if it was a city-slicker or a seasoned hunter, but one 
of my horses was shot by a hunter using a high powered game rifle.  The bullet 
went right through the barn wall and through the stall door to hit the horse.  
I know in some areas of NC, I'd be afraid to let a child play outdoors during 
hunting season.

You would have to live here to appreciate what a big deal it is.  Some  
rural schools actually have the first day of hunting season as a holiday.  
Some rural courts close.  Quite a few businesses close.

Me...I'd be scared to death to let a child in the woods w/ some of the  
city-slicker yahoos...but it's probably a good thing I'm not a mom b-cause a  
great many things scare me when it comes to (growing up) children.
