Futurity Judging Requirements I think it would be easier if the clubs held more matches. :0) The Oregon club has held 2 this year. Your club held a match before the show started on Sat. I truly believe that the fun matches will do more to bring new people to the breed than anything else. Terry Paul adds... Lotta truth here...either matches or sweeps...but...ya gotta support them. When I was doing my matches, many of them were larger than most of todays shows and that was adults and puppies judged separately...and one of those was the Portland club Terry belongs to. The downside is the obvious cost of entries. If you keep fees reasonable on matches and sweeps, odds are good you should get decent entries. Several years ago we used to have certain weekends set aside for matches. Sacramento always did one on Mothers Day and their entries were huge. GSD Western Regional Council also did an all breed obedience (5 rings) and a Specialty GSD match that drew very well.
