Yes, it cuts.
I can see using it on an older dog, one who isn't competing. You know how
when they get older, they seem to grow and grow and GROW coat????
But at the base of the Furminator is a blade that can/will damage coat when
not used VERY carefully. I've seen it really make a mess. But I've seen
people make a mess w/ stripping combs too...
I don't want one. Give me a greyhound comb (and patience, lol!).
