[ SHOWGSD-L ] Fun weekend in Padukah KY

Before I do my brag, allow me to reflect on the past 4 days. For the first
time since I've been in the States (38 years now), I spent Thanksgiving away
from my "blood" family and spent it with my "dog" family. It was the best
Thanksgiving I've had in many many years and the reason I'm sharing this is to
just say how important I think it is to have special friends that become
"extended" family in ones life. With loosing so many of our dog people over
the last few years, it has made me realize how small this special group of
people really is. On with my brags.
Another first in my dog years, I attended the GSD Specialty Shows in Paducah KY
this year. What a nice show site. Even though the weather was not at it's
best, we had a wonderful fun weekend shared with lots of friends.
On Saturday under Dick Jones, Tanbark-Joelle Tanzanite of Chablis was awareded
WB for a 4 point major, making that her 4th one and thus completing her
Championship. She had a flawless performance as always, and was in beautiful
condition. Her owners Cindy & Bart Barley and Candice Jones have done an
amazing job with her, thanks so much guys!!!!! She was handled to perfection
by Jeff Pyle, you make it look soooo easy. Thank's Jeff, you're the best!
Tanzy is the 3rd Champion from my litter by my Bull son Ch. CaralonQED JD Drew
v Bleibtreu and Aramists BlingBling v Joelle. There are two more from the
repeat breeding that are well on their way to finishing as well. The breeders
of both those litters are myself, Tiffany Bartley, Joann Corbin & Donna
Calabrese.
I brought my 5 1/2 month old puppy "Trinket" so she could get some ring
experience in the Puppy Match which was judged by Tara Fairburn. Her co-owner
Tiffany Bartley handled her and she gaited her way to Best Puppy in Match,
thank you Tiffany & Tara!!!! She is quite a little spitfire but Tiff made it
look like she had been doing this for a long time, thanks Tiff, I don't know
how you do it, she certainly does not do it for me. lol
Trinket's breeder and co-owner is Bobbie Schiffelbein of Charbo Kennels.
Bobbie bred her lovely girl Charbo's Deja Vu (a Nicaragua daughter) to my male
"Rio", aka, CaralonQED Tanbark's Treasure Island v Joelle Aramist. I am
extremely proud of Rio's first litter, it was quality filled, and along with
Trinket, there will be a sister and a brother competing in the conformation
ring as well.
Trinket is owned by myself, Bobbie Schiffelbein, Tiffany Bartley & Carole
Michael, (who also owns Rio along with myself, Tiffany Bartley and Pat
Parsons). Thank you Bobbie for this lovely girl, I am so very proud of her, I
know she will make us proud.
There were several wondeful wins that weekend and even though not a big show,
there was very nice quality both days. The best part though is getting to
spend time with friends and having fun. I will just say when Frank & Kris
Fasano are at a show, one always has fun, thanks for the laughs Frank. :)
I know this is quite long, but it was just a nice weekend, not just due to the
wins, but the time I got to spend with the people I care about.
