Dear Members
I am going to address the concerns around the ballot  issue. 
 
The GSDCA had always used Honest Ballot before, and did not do the due  
diligence that we should have done in seeking bids this year.  The bid from  
ElectionTrust came in unsolicited, we had no references on this company, no  
detail 
about his procedures. The only criteria used to evaluate the bids were  price, 
which was a mistake.

As Sharon worked with Bodin and shared  information with me, she and I became 
aware of these  shortcomings about his procedure, that he had no physical 
address and his  business only existed in cyberspace. We had to use the Bylaws 
to 
guide us  to the remedies.  Fortunately, the Bylaws also call for an audit,  
which we have put into place. You can be assured that the election will be  
audited and verified. 
 
Since the Corresponding Secretary is charged by the Bylaws with conducting  
the election, Sharon worked with John Bodin to make the process work as best as 
 it could, considering the fact that his usual business entailed handling  
elections electronically, and that this election is not electronic.
 
I have just received my ballot and see that a correction that Sharon made  in 
proofing both the judges ballot and the officers and directors ballot was not 
 implemented, despite the fact that Bodin confirmed receiving the  
correction. That correction which he neglected to make was to remove the  line 
that 
referenced the "prepaid postage". 

I would hope that the Board  has learned an important lesson here, I 
certainly have.
